Responsibilities
- Study international banking regulatory and supervisory standards and their developments, and provide recommendations for improving the regulatory policy framework of the Armenian banking system
- Assess the current state of the banking sector, identify potential risks, and evaluate the effectiveness of existing regulatory policies
- Develop new regulatory policies or enhance existing ones in line with international best practices to ensure the stability and resilience of the banking system
- Provide professional guidance and clarifications to banks and other stakeholders regarding the implementation of regulatory legal acts
- Represent the banking regulatory framework of the Republic of Armenia in cooperation with public and private institutions, foreign regulatory authorities, and international organizations (e.g., BSCEE, IMF, World Bank)
- Review documents submitted by the Government of the Republic of Armenia and other public authorities, preparing professional opinions and recommendations
- Review analytical, research, and regulatory materials prepared by the department and other divisions of the Central Bank, provide expert opinions, and perform other duties arising from the department's activities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field
- Previous experience in the financial sector is preferred
- Strong knowledge of banking legislation and the regulatory framework
- Knowledge of risk management principles and methodologies
- Strong financial analysis and financial data evaluation skills
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong analytical thinking, with experience in developing regulatory policies and working with legal and regulatory acts
- Excellent written and spoken Armenian, English, and Russian
