Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations in the ADR circuit, including carbon adsorption, elution, Merrill-Crowe, reagent handling, and gold room activities, to achieve maximum gold recovery and plant reliability
- Lead a team of operators, control room operators, and laborers, enforcing safe work practices, procedural compliance, and ICMC standards for cyanide handling
- Monitor process: process parameters, troubleshoot operational issues and implement immediate corrective actions to minimize downtime and production impact
- Coordinate with maintenance, metallurgy, and control room teams for planned shutdowns, startups, and integrated process optimizations
- Develop, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive training programs for ADR circuit personnel, including hands-on coaching, competency assessments, and certification pathways for operators and supervisors
- Conduct skill gap analyses, design tailored training modules (classroom, simulation, on-the-job), and mentor local staff to achieve proficiency in complex ADR processes and safety protocols
- Integrate metallurgical data and best practices into training content to enhance recovery efficiency, reagent optimization, and cost control
- Track and report on training KPIs, such as trainee competency rates, error reduction, and knowledge transfer success, while building succession plans for employees
- Support commissioning and ramp-up by leading operational readiness training on ADR equipment and procedures.
- Enforce daily safety briefings, JSA reviews, and visible leadership in high-risk areas like the gold room
- Optimize resource allocation, shift scheduling, and performance management to meet production KPIs (recovery, throughput, reagent consumption)
- Collaborate with the Chief Metallurgist on continuous improvement initiatives and reagent/water/energy usage reductions
- Provide input into operational reporting (daily/weekly) and participate in root-cause analysis for incidents or deviations
- Act as a delegate for the Operations Superintendent during absences, ensuring continuity in ADR leadership and decision-making
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in heap leach and/or gold mine ADR/ elution circuit operations
- Minimum 5 years experience with gold elutions, Merrill-Crowe experience considered beneficial
- Gold Room supervision / operations experience beneficial
- At least 5 years in a General Foreman or equivalent senior supervisory role on a large-scale heap leach or CIL/CIP gold operation
- At least 5 years experience delivering training and coaching to front line staff
In-depth knowledge of ADR circuits, Acid Wash, Elution, Cyanide reagent handling and mixing
- Strong understanding of cyanide safety, ICMC compliance, and HDPE pipeline installation/fusion standards
- Experience with SCADA/PLC-controlled systems
- Formal training in front-line leadership, cyanide first-response, and incident investigation
- Proficient in CMMS, solution balance spreadsheets, and MS Office suite
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills
- Language Skills: Strong working knowledge of English is required. Russian and Armenian desirable
